THE SURFSPOTS

There are two main surf spots in Pichilemu: Punta de Lobos and La Puntilla. Both are world-class waves, offering around 300 days a year of perfectly peeling surf.

Each spot has different sections suitable for every level. You’ll find bigger, more powerful waves for advanced surfers, and smaller, mellow sections ideal for beginners.

Punta de Lobos

It works with almost any kind of swell—every direction and from 1 m up to 10 m. Thanks to its coastline, the spot is protected all day from the

typical south wind. It’s a long left-hand point break, offering rides of up to 500 meters, all connected in a single wave.

La Puntilla

This spot is located right next to the center of Pichilemu. It’s usually a bit smaller than Punta de Lobos but offers steeper sections and even the occasional barrel. It’s a left-handed point break, and on good days you can enjoy rides of 30 seconds or more.

In the Chilean summer, the waves tend to be smaller and more beginner-friendly, making it the perfect season for learning and progressing with confidence.

But when winter arrives, everything changes. Powerful swells hit the coastline, and Punta de Lobos becomes one of the world’s big-wave stages, hosting international competitions where elite surfers ride massive, heavy waves.

It’s a place where beginners grow in summer—and legends are made in winter.
